➖શરીરના ફિલ્ટર તરીકે ઓળખાતી કીડની ખરાબ થાય અથવા તેમાં ખામી સર્જાય ત્યારે તે રૂધિરને ગાળી શકતી નથી એટલે કે રૂધિરમાં રહેલો કચરો અલગ થતો નથી.
➖આ પરિસ્થિતિમાં ડાયાલીસીસ દ્વારા રૂધિરને ગાળવામાં આવે છે.
➖કીડની (મુત્રપિંડ) ઘેરા કથ્થાઈ રંગના, વાલ અથવા કાજુ આકારની હોય છે, જેની સંખ્યા બે હોય છે. તેનું સરેરાશ દળ 150 ગ્રામ હોય છે.
