As India reels under the impact of a severe heatwave, a satellite image shared by IMD has shown huge clouds approaching India. The image shows huge clouds forming over Afghanistan, Pakistan, and adjoining northwest India. Clouds were also seen being formed over the Arabian Sea. Reportedly, this western disturbance may increase the chances of thunderstorms and rain, bringing relief.

Twisha's mother-in-law removed as Chairperson of Bhopal District Consumer Commission

Retired judge and Twisha Sharma's mother-in-law Giribala Singh, who is among the accused in the alleged dowry death case of her daughter-in-law, has been removed from the post of Chairperson of the Bhopal District Consumer Commission. The order was issued by the Food Department, Moneycontrol reported. Twisha Sharma was found dead at her husband's home in Bhopal on May 12.

Russian jets 'dangerously' intercept UK spy plane over Black sea, shows video

The United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force (RAF) on Wednesday claimed that one of its surveillance aircraft was repeatedly and "dangerously" intercepted by two Russian jets last month over the Black Sea. Russian Su-35 aircraft flew close enough to trigger emergency systems, it added. A Russian Su-27 conducted six passes and flew as close as six metres, RAF claimed.

Deployment of 500 CAPF companies in Bengal extended till June 20

Air France and Airbus have been found guilty of manslaughter over a plane crash from 2009 which killed all 228 people onboard. The Rio de Janeiro-Paris flight had vanished from radars during a storm and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. The court ordered the companies to pay the maximum fine of $261,720 (₹2.5 crore) each for corporate manslaughter.

HC issues notice to TVK over use of children to influence voters

The Madras High Court issued a notice to TVK chief and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay on a petition alleging corrupt practices during the 2026 state Assembly polls. Delhi ration card income limit to rise from ₹1.2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh

The Delhi government will raise income eligibility for ration cards from ₹1.2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh per annum, CM Rekha Gupta announced on Thursday. "The government removed 1.44 lakh beneficiaries not fulfilling the income criterion...29,580 who died, while 23,394 ration cards were found to be duplicates," she added. She further said around 7.72 lakh "invalid" ration cards were cancelled.

CBI-led SIT to probe claims of evidence destroyed in RG Kar case

Apple blocked over ₹21,000 cr fraudulent transactions in 2025 from App Store

Apple on Thursday said it stopped more than $2.2 billion (over ₹21,000 crore) in potentially fraudulent transactions on the App Store in 2025. The company also terminated around 193,000 malicious developer accounts and rejected more than 138,000 enrolment attempts over fraud concerns. App Store's fraud detection systems have prevented over $11.2 billion in fraudulent transactions over six years.
