National archery coach Kuldeep Vedwan gets 5 years in jail for sexually harassing minor athlete

National archery coach Kuldeep Vedwan has been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment in a sexual harassment case. A Fast Track Special Court in Sonipat convicted him under POCSO Act and imposed a ₹15,000 fine. Vedwan was accused of entering a minor female archer's hotel room during 2023 Youth Championship trials and making inappropriate advances.

'Slaughter of cow not part of Eid-al-Adha,' says Calcutta HC as it upholds WB govt's restrictions

The Calcutta High Court upheld restrictions imposed by Suvendu Adhikari-led West Bengal government on cattle slaughter ahead of Eid al-Adha. 78,000 Samsung chip workers to each get ₹3.27-crore bonus after firm's deal with union

Samsung Electronics will distribute about 40 trillion won ($26.6 billion) to chip employees as a bonus for this year after striking a deal with labor unions to avert a strike.
