Mosque built on graveyard land in UP's Sambhal declared illegal by court

A tehsildar court in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal has declared a mosque constructed on 1,100-1,200 sqm graveyard land illegal, officials said. "Constructing a mosque on graveyard land is not only illegal but also inappropriate from a religious perspective," Tehsildar Dhirendra Kumar Singh said. Notably, Sambhal was rocked by violence during a court-ordered survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in 2024.

'AI deflation' could shave $10 billion off revenues of Indian IT firms: Report
