3rd US aircraft carrier heads towards Middle East amid US-Iran war

US aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush departed from Virginia for a routine deployment and will be headed towards Middle East, a Moneycontrol report said. Its arrival could bring total number of US aircraft carriers engaged in operations against Iran to three. Currently, USS Gerald R Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike groups are deployed in the Middle East.

India's maternal mortality drops nearly 80% since 1990: Study

India's maternal mortality ratio (MMR) in 2023 has declined by nearly 80% since 1990, according to a study published in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology, & Women's Health. The country's MMR fell from 508 to 116 per one lakh live births between 1990 and 2023. In 2023, India recorded 24,700 maternal deaths, compared to 32,900 in Nigeria, the study added.
