J&K man arrested in Rubiya Sayeed’s 1989 kidnapping case

A man linked to the 1989 kidnapping of Rubiya Sayeed, the daughter of then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, has been arrested in Srinagar. Identified as Shafat Ahmed Shangloo, the man allegedly conspired with members of banned terror group Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), led by Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik. He carried a reward of ₹10 lakh.

MP university found running illegal medical course, 294 graduated

A government university in Madhya Pradesh has admitted offering Electro-Homoeopathy courses since 2022-23, despite the practice being unrecognised by the state government, NDTV reported. The course, with a ₹30,000 fee, has already seen 294 graduates. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar told the Assembly that the course was never granted any approval.

India's unemployment rate declines to 3.2% over past 6 years: Data

Unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above declined over the past six years from 6.0% in 2017-18 to 3.2% in 2023-24, government data stated. Urban unemployment reduced from 7.4% in 2017-18 to 5.2% in 2023-24, while rural unemployment declined from 3.2% to 2.1%. Unemployment for 15-year-plus population stood at 5.1% and 5.2% in August and September 2025, respectively.

FM rejects claim of govt forcing LIC to invest in Adani Group

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman rejected a Washington Post report claiming the Centre forced LIC to invest $3.9 billion in Adani Group. "Investment decisions of LIC are taken by LIC alone following...due diligence, risk assessment and fiduciary compliance," she said.
