CPRO, Central Railway, Swapnil Dhanraj Nila said that all rakes under manufacturing for Mumbai Suburban will have automatic door closure facilities. He stated all rakes in service will be redesigned and door closure facility will be provided in these rakes of Mumbai Suburban local line. This comes after several people reportedly died after falling from a local train near Mumbai.

Explosion occurs on cargo ship off Kerala coast, Navy diverts INS Surat for aid

An explosion has taken place on a Singapore-flagged cargo ship off the coast of Kerala, following which Indian Navy diverted INS Surat to provide immediate assistance, as per Defence PRO. Of the 22 crew members, four are reported missing and five are injured, Indian Coast Guard PRO said. ICGS Rajdoot, ICGS Arnvesh and ICGS Sachet diverted for assistance, it added.
