India recorded its highest-ever monthly electric vehicle (EV) retail sales in July 2026, with total registrations reaching 3,27,901 units, marking over 66% year-on-year growth. Govt blocks nearly 5,000 Telegram channels for film piracy

The Centre has ordered intermediaries to disable 7,393 URLs, including 4,996 Telegram channels and 1,263 websites, for hosting or distributing pirated films. The government said it has strengthened the legal framework to curb unauthorised recording and online dissemination of films through the Cinematograph (Amendment) Act, 2023. The data was disclosed by the government in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
