Nigeria's stock market has emerged as the best-performing equity market globally in dollar terms this year, Bloomberg reported. The benchmark index in Africa's largest oil producer has returned 68% in dollar terms this year, outpacing the 66% gain for South Korea's Kospi index. Kospi fell in recent weeks amid concerns over AI sustainability, meanwhile, Nigerian stocks have little AI exposure.

CAG flags ₹3,541-cr excess spending in Maha's Ladki Bahin Scheme

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has flagged "significant deficiencies" in the financial management of Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Scheme. The CAG found that the state's Women and Child Development Department incurred an excess expenditure of ₹3,541 crore "without any justification". Under the Ladki Bahin Scheme, eligible women aged between 21 and 65 years receive ₹1,500 each month.

FSSAI issues 9 notices to Swiggy Instamart over expired, unsafe food

Pakistan hikes petrol, diesel prices by up to PKR 323/litre amid West Asia crisis

Pakistan increased petrol and high-speed diesel prices by over PKR 13 (around ₹4) per litre, taking petrol to PKR 310.71 (₹106) and HSD to PKR 323.30 (₹110) per litre. Fuel prices in Pakistan have surged sharply following the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict. The price of petrol in Pakistan reached a record PKR 458.41 (₹157) per litre on April 3.

18-month-old dies after anaesthesia for lip cut in Kerala, hospital claims cardiac arrest

NDA cadet dies during 1st physical training days after joining academy in Pune
