Delhi recorded highest dowry deaths among metro cities in 2024: NCRB

According to data released by the National Crime Records Bureau, 5,737 dowry deaths were reported in India in 2024. Among metropolitan cities, Delhi recorded the highest number of dowry deaths for the fifth consecutive year with 109 cases. Kanpur reported 54 dowry deaths, while Bengaluru recorded 25 deaths. Chennai and Kochi reported zero dowry deaths, the data showed.
