Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is a heart surgeon, has been involved in the treatment of "gravely wounded" Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, reported NYT. Mojtaba is reportedly awaiting plastic surgery for his face and a prosthetic for his leg, which was operated on thrice. He hasn't recorded any message because he doesn't want to appear vulnerable, added the report.

US reclassifies marijuana as less dangerous drug

In a major policy shift, the US Department of Justice has officially reclassified marijuana as less dangerous drug. It placed FDA-approved marijuana products and products containing marijuana regulated by a state medical marijuana licence in Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act. They will move from Schedule I, reserved for drugs without medical use and with high potential for abuse.

60 Serie A footballers named in Milan prostitution and laughing gas scandal

Italian prosecutors have named more than 60 Serie A footballers after raiding luxury escort agency Ma.De. Milano, which ran a prostitution ring generating approximately €1.2 million in revenue. Several players were found to have inhaled laughing gas (nitrous oxide) at the events. Four people, including agency owners Emanuele Buttini and Deborah Ronchi, are under house arrest.

West Bengal & Tamil Nadu see highest-ever voter turnout since Independence

The Election Commission said that Tamil Nadu and West Bengal recorded the highest-ever voter turnout since Independence on Thursday, when Assembly elections were held. Tamil Nadu and West Bengal saw polling percentages of 84.69% and 91.78%, respectively. "Previously, the highest poll participation in Tamil Nadu was 78.29% in 2011, and in West Bengal was 84.72% in 2011," the EC said.

Stray dog dies while saving 30 kids from snake in Odisha, villagers give her farewell
