Pakistan to get $3 ​billion from Saudi Arabia after begging for funds

Pakistan will get $3 ​billion in additional support from Saudi Arabia, announced Pakistan's Finance Ministry. The extra funding for Pakistan comes on top of Riyadh extending the rollover arrangement for an additional $5 billion deposit for a longer period. This comes after Pakistan begged Saudi Arabia for financial support after UAE asked it to repay its $3-billion loan.

3, including a kid, killed as fire engulfs huts in Delhi's Rohini

A couple and their two-year-old child were burnt to death after a massive fire broke out in a cluster of shanties in Delhi’s Rohini in the early hours of Wednesday, Delhi Fire Services official said. The blaze spread rapidly, fuelled by a large accumulation of plastic waste, leaving little time to react. Six fire tenders were deployed to douse flames.

Sanctioned Chinese tanker fails to break through US blockade, turns back to Hormuz

A US-sanctioned tanker linked to China, Rich Starry, made its way back to Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday after exiting the Gulf the day before, failing to break through a US naval blockade of the maritime route, shipping data showed. The tanker was among eight ships crossing the waterway on Tuesday. It was placed under sanctions for dealing with Iran.

World chess champion Gukesh D will defend his title against Javokhir Sindarov later this year.
