IMD issues warning for TN, Puducherry & Andhra amid Cyclonic Storm Ditwah

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning as Cyclonic Storm Ditwah over southwest Bay of Bengal is moving North-Northwest and is expected near North Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–South Andhra Pradesh coast by early November 30. Residents are advised to follow safety instructions and stay indoors during severe weather, it added. At least 123 people died in Sri Lanka due to Ditwah.

25,000 taxpayers flagged over non-disclosure of foreign assets

The Income Tax Department will send SMS alerts and emails to around 25,000 taxpayers over potential non-disclosure of foreign assets in ITRs filed for AY 2025-26. According to PTI, these taxpayers will be asked to file revised ITRs by December 31 to avoid penalties. Thailand floods kill 162, Songkhla worst hit with 126 deaths

Thailand government spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat said on Saturday that at least 162 people were killed in eight provinces, with Songkhla recording 126 deaths. Heavy rains in 12 southern provinces have affected over 1.4 million households and 3.8 million people, authorities said. They added that water levels began to recede across all affected areas on Saturday morning.
