Death toll in Darjeeling landslides reaches 20, tourist spots shut

After heavy rain triggered massive landslides across Mirik and Darjeeling hills on Sunday, at least 20 people died. Villages remain isolated, and hundreds of tourists are stranded as the landslides destroyed homes and cut off roads. Short circuit caused fire: Jaipur hospital as death toll reaches 8

Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur confirmed that a short circuit triggered the fire in Neurosurgery ICU of its Trauma and Orthopaedic Institute. The blaze erupted around 11:20 pm on Sunday, filling the ICU with smoke, the hospital stated in a press note. Eleven patients who were inside were moved to other ICUs, but eight succumbed to burns.
