The LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) Collaboration has detected the biggest-ever merger of two massive black holes with gravitational waves. The merger produced a final black hole more than 225 times the mass of our Sun. The two black holes that merged were approximately 100 and 140 times the mass of the Sun.

India's retail inflation in June drops to its lowest level in 6.5 years

India's retail inflation has dropped by 298 basis points YoY to 2.1% in June 2025, the lowest level that the index has been in about 6.5 years. The retail inflation fell as vegetables and pulses saw 19% and 11.76% drop in their prices, respectively. The states with the lowest inflation were Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, at -0.93% and 0% respectively.

Shubhanshu Shukla leaves for Earth after 18-day stay in space

Indian astronaut IAF Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his Axiom-4 mission crew members have departed the International Space Station (ISS), ending their 18-day stay. Their SpaceX Grace capsule undocked from space station at around 4.45 pm (IST) on Monday. The spacecraft is expected to splash down off the coast of US' California at around 3 pm IST on Tuesday.

Jaishankar meets China Minister Yi, says 'hope zero tolerance for terror will be upheld'

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during his first visit to the country since the Galwan Valley clash in 2020. "India hopes that zero tolerance for terrorism will be strongly upheld," Jaishankar said during the meeting. Check fuel switch locking system on Boeing planes by July 21: DGCA to airlines

India's aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered all airline operators to carry out inspection of the fuel switch locking mechanism of several Boeing aircraft by July 21. This came after an AAIB report on the Air India plane crash said the switches on the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane were moved to 'cut-off' position.

England defeated India by 22 runs in the third Test at Lord's Cricket Ground to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Chasing a 193-run target, India were dismissed for 170 in 74.5 overs.
