🍿 'Thunderbolts*': The Resurrection of the MCU's Outcasts

📆 Release: May 2, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Action · #Thriller

The Thunderbolts* trailer, released during the Super Bowl, brings together an unusual group of anti-heroes, including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and Red Guardian (David Harbour), among others, in a mission packed with dark humor and adrenaline. Directed by Jake Schreier (Beef, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew) and produced by Kevin Feige, the film will explore the shadows of the past while the enigmatic Sentry (Lewis Pullman) looms as a threat.

The atmosphere created by Son Lux's composition adds an experimental touch that, in my opinion, will turn this project into a bold and surprising experience 😎. Personally, I believe this film will revitalize the comic book genre. No doubt, it's going to be epic. 😏

🍿 'Holland': The Dark Side of Nicole Kidman’s Suburban Dream 🌷

📆 Release: March 27, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Thriller · #PsychologicalDrama

Nicole Kidman takes us on an unsettling journey as Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher whose idyllic life in Holland, Michigan 🇺🇸 unravels alongside her perfect husband (Matthew Macfadyen, 'Succession') and son (Jude Hill, 'Belfast'). When she and her colleague (Gael García Bernal, 'Y tu mamá también') uncover disturbing secrets, everything that seemed real turns into an illusion.

Mimi Cave weaves eccentric humor and Kidman’s commitment to working with female directors into this story. While it echoes 'The Stepford Wives,' this film goes deeper: Kidman’s fragile charisma, Macfadyen’s tension, and the tulip fields create a hypnotic atmosphere. 🌷

🍿 'Havoc': Tom Hardy Confronts His Past in a Brutal Action Thriller

📆 Release: April 25, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Action · #Thriller

Gareth Evans ('The Raid', 'Apostle') makes a grand return with this wild cocktail of action-packed thrills, featuring all the ingredients to become a true gem. Tom Hardy ('Venom', 'Mad Max: Fury Road') plays Walker, a jaded detective forced to dive into the criminal underworld after a botched drug deal 💥

The trailer showcases brutally intense hand-to-hand combat scenes and the dynamic camera work that defines the British director’s style. The cast includes heavyweights like Forest Whitaker ('The Last King of Scotland'), Timothy Olyphant ('Justified'), and Luis Guzmán ('Boogie Nights').
I love how Evans makes every punch and gunshot hit hard, drawing from his roots in Indonesian martial arts cinema. The much-anticipated action sequences look rawer and more visceral than ever 🥊🔥

We’ll see if this collaboration between Hardy and Evans manages to exceed expectations after years of waiting. Fans of pure action cinema have plenty to celebrate 👏

🍿 'The Rivals of Amziah King': McConaughey's Return After a Six-Year Hiatus

📆 Release: March 10 at SXSW
🎭 Genre: #Drama · #Thriller

Matthew McConaughey returns to the big screen with 'The Rivals of Amziah King', a drama where he plays a charismatic Oklahoma beekeeper with a troubled past. During his six-year break, the actor wrote his memoir 'Greenlights', spent time with his family, and voiced characters in films like 'Sing 2'.

Interestingly, this hiatus reignited his love for acting: 'I remembered that this is like a vacation for me,' he confessed. He also praised young actress Angelina LookingGlass, who is set to impress in this film.

And yes, his season of 'True Detective' is still, according to him (and many fans), the best. Anyone care to disagree? 😉

🍿 'Mickey 17': Dying Over and Over for a Paycheck

📆 Release: March 7, 2025
🎭 Genre: #SciFi · #Thriller

It's hard to accept that 'Mickey 17' is becoming one of those inexplicable cases where quality and box-office success don't align. This film marks Bong Joon Ho's highly anticipated return following his monumental success with 'Parasite', which elevated him to cinematic greatness, earning four Oscars and a Palme d'Or.

This time, the South Korean genius blends the dark satire of 'Snowpiercer' with the sharp social and environmental commentary he explored in 'Okja', delivering a futuristic dystopia as amusing as it is thought-provoking.

🍿 ‘One Battle After Another’: DiCaprio leads the revolution in Paul Thomas Anderson’s wildest ride yet

📆 Release: September 26, 2025
🎭 Genre: #DarkComedy · #Thriller · #Action

Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant, The Wolf of Wall Street) plays a chaotic, bathrobe-wearing ex-revolutionary on a desperate mission to find his daughter — and possibly save the world while he's at it. Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Licorice Pizza) teams him up with Benicio del Toro (Traffic) as his deranged “sensei” and Sean Penn as a grizzled military foe.

Loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland, this is more spiritual remix than straight adaptation. Shot on 35mm VistaVision with a reported $140M budget, it's Anderson’s most ambitious film yet. 🎬💥

This feels like PTA blending the absurdity of Inherent Vice with the emotional punch of Punch-Drunk Love. DiCaprio looks completely unhinged — and I’m 100% here for it. 🧨

🍿 'Eddington': Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal ignite chaos in Ari Aster’s explosive new thriller

📆 Release: July 18, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Thriller · #Western
🍿 Follow Movie

Ari Aster ('Hereditary', 'Midsommar') dives headfirst into the madness of 2020 with 'Eddington', setting Joaquin Phoenix ('Joker') as a small-town sheriff on a collision course with Pedro Pascal ('Gladiator II'), the charismatic mayor. Set during the peak of pandemic paranoia and simmering social unrest, this modern western thriller promises to escalate from small-town drama to something far darker—mysterious murders, hidden agendas, and neighbors turning against each other. 🏜🔥

With the compelling duo joined by Emma Stone ('La La Land') and Austin Butler ('Elvis'), there's no doubt this will be Aster’s most unsettling, gripping, and probably mind-bending film yet. My gut says: expect psychological twists, chilling confrontations, and a portrayal of America at its breaking point. Brace yourselves—it's about to get weird. 💥😬

🍿 Caught Stealing: Aronofsky lets loose — and it actually suits him

📆 Release: August 29, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Thriller · #DarkComedy · #Crime
⬇️ Follow Movie

Austin Butler is just cat-sitting when things spiral out of control. Suddenly, he’s on the run through a gritty, gangster-infested 1990s New York — with punk neighbors (Matt Smith in a mohawk), Hasidic mobsters, and Zoë Kravitz as his emotional anchor. Aronofsky — yes, Black Swan and The Whale Aronofsky — feels like he binged Snatch and Lucky Number Slevin before directing.

And it works: this doesn’t smell like an existential meltdown, but rather a fast-paced pulp thriller with dirty visuals and dark humor. It’s his least depressing and most fun movie yet, without losing his flair for the grotesque.

📣 Best part: the trailer doesn’t spoil everything — finally.
🤔 The big question: is this a one-off or a new chapter? Either way, it looks like instant cult material.

🍿 ‘Eddington’: Ari Aster’s COVID Western We Never Saw Coming

📆 Release: July 18, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Western · #PoliticalDrama · #Thriller
⬇️ Follow Movie

Joaquin Phoenix (‘Joker’, ‘Beau Is Afraid’) and Pedro Pascal (‘The Last of Us’, ‘The Mandalorian’) go head-to-head in a political showdown packed with conspiracy theories, protest flashbacks, and machine-gun chaos. ‘Eddington’ marks Ari Aster’s boldest pivot yet — turning the madness of 2020 into a surreal, explosive Western with private jets hovering over the desert and six-foot-apart standoffs.

It dives straight into the post-George Floyd unrest with sharp satire and dark humor, escalating from tense debates to all-out gunfire. Aster may have stepped out of horror, but the discomfort is still razor-sharp. Phoenix is electric, and yes — Pedro is everywhere, but in this one, he absolutely earns it. 🧨🗳🤠

🍿 'Weapons': School Horror Goes Viral!

📆 Release: August 8, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Horror · #Thriller
🍿 Follow movie

I’ve witnessed how Weapons reinvents school horror with the twisted flair of Roman J. Israel, Esq. and the wild energy of Barbarian. Josh Brolin (Dune 2) storms into a town meeting, screaming “I want to know what happened in that classroom!” Julia Garner stands shaken as 17 kids vanish simultaneously—Naruto-run style 👟💨. Zach Cregger (Barbarian) delivers a script packed with unexpected twists and grotesque surprises, like that eerie line of salt on the floor.

I sense the same boldness as Severance or Jordan Peele’s films: clever scares guaranteed. I can’t wait to uncover the mystery behind those invisible hands!🔍 The hype is real 😱

🍿 The Running Man: Edgar Wright turns America into the ultimate arena 🏃‍♂️🔴

📆 Release: November 7, 2025
🎭 Genre: #SciFi · #Thriller · #Action
🍿 Follow movie

Edgar Wright, the genius behind 'Baby Driver' and 'Shaun of the Dead', finally treats Stephen King’s novel with the grit it deserves. After that first trailer my pulse is still racing. Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell in peak “Bad Mood” form, enters a coast-to-coast manhunt to fund his daughter’s meds. One rule: survive 30 days while the entire country tracks you on their Free-Vees.

Josh Brolin oozes charm and menace as producer Dan Killian, Colman Domingo shines as an over-the-top host, and Michael Cera delivers a jolting cameo that screams pure Wright. Picture 'Escape from New York' mashed with TikTok frenzy, cut at Wright’s turbo rhythm.

Will the movie dare to film the novel’s jaw-dropping ending? I’m lacing up for opening night to find out. 😈

From the very first shot, Yosemite stands vast and imposing—the perfect backdrop for a deadly mystery. Eric Bana (‘The Mummy’, ‘Munich’) is Kyle Turner, a National Park Service agent who’s convinced that a woman’s fall from El Capitan wasn’t an accident. Was she running from someone? 🔪

The spark between him and Lily Santiago (‘Sin City’) energizes every investigation. Sam Neill (‘Jurassic Park’) plays the all-knowing ranger, while Rosemarie DeWitt (‘La La Land’) stirs up Turner’s past as his ex. Wilson Bethel channels his Bullseye from ‘Daredevil’ as a lone-wolf officer. 🎥⚡️

Sweeping aerials over cliffs and claustrophobic tunnels make you feel trapped in the wilderness—every clue counts. Netflix nailed the blend of outdoor suspense and the lead’s inner demons. 👀

🍿 ‘Eenie Meanie’: Samara Weaving at the wheel of an adrenaline-fueled thriller

📆 Release: August 22, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Thriller · #Action
✈️ Follow Movie

‘Eenie Meanie’ channels the spirit of ‘Baby Driver’ mixed with the tension of ‘Drive’ as Samara Weaving (‘Ready or Not’) steps into the shoes of Edie, a former teenage getaway driver forced back into danger to save her unpredictable ex. 🚗💥

Written and directed by Shawn Simmons in his feature debut, the film boasts a star-studded cast: Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Marshawn Lynch, Randall Park, Steve Zahn, Andy García, and Mike O’Malley. Produced by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (‘Deadpool’), it promises high-speed chases and unexpected twists. 🔄🎬

I believe Weaving’s potential goes beyond streaming platforms—her talent deserves a major theatrical hit. Her knack for balancing humor and tension is phenomenal, and I’m confident ‘Eenie Meanie’ will cement her as a bona fide action star. 🌟🚀

🍿 Denzel & Spike Lee: the long-awaited reunion in ‘Highest 2 Lowest’

📆 Release: August 15 in theaters · September 5 on Apple TV+
🎭 Genre: #Thriller · #Crime
✈️ Follow Movie

19 years after Inside Man, Spike Lee and Denzel Washington team up once again for a loose adaptation of Kurosawa’s High and Low 🔥. This time, instead of selling shoes, Denzel plays a music mogul whose son (played by A$AP Rocky) is kidnapped and held for a $17.5 million ransom.

The tension in the trailer is palpable. New York becomes a chessboard for an emotional showdown between father and son. Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction, The Batman) brings that calm intensity that perfectly balances Washington’s explosive charisma. The cast is rounded out by Ilfenesh Hadera, Dean Winters, and even Ice Spice, who’s sure to turn some heads 🧊🎤.

Visually, some shots pay homage to Kurosawa, but with A24’s signature style and a noticeable dose of product placement (including a pair of gold Beats headphones on Denzel). Let’s not forget: the film is produced by Apple, which owns Beats, and it definitely shows in more than one scene.

It’ll be tough to top the original.

🍿 ‘HIM’: the mentor who demands your glory… or your soul

📆 Release: September 19, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Action · #Thriller
✈️ Follow movie

‘HIM’ turns cheers into a macabre whisper 🏈💀. Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers, from Atlanta and I Know What You Did Last Summer) goes from hopeful prospect to the brink of madness when he agrees to train with Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans). Produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) and directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), it’s a sports fable where every dropped pass and bone-crunching hit is penance to become the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time 🐐).

They nailed the marketing: slapping Peele’s famous name in giant letters draws you in, but his role as producer (not director) feels like a manipulation of the audience. 🎭 Plus, a supporting cast featuring Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, and surprise musical cameos from Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack… makes for an unpredictable cocktail. I think Marlon Wayans delivers his most twisted performance yet, and that cult-like sports atmosphere has got to be good.

🍿 ‘Hotel Costiera’: Luxury, Mystery, and Jesse Williams in Full Hero Mode

📆 Release: September 24, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Action · #Thriller
✈️ Follow series

Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) finally gets the leading role he deserves in ‘Hotel Costiera’, a slick thriller set against the stunning backdrop of Italy’s Amalfi Coast. He plays Daniel De Luca, a half-Italian ex-Marine working as a fixer at one of the world’s most exclusive hotels. But when the owner's daughter vanishes, Daniel takes matters into his own hands to bring her back, no matter the cost.🇮🇹

This feels like Magnum P.I. meets The White Lotus, with a dash of Ocean’s 13. Sleek visuals, a fresh international cast, yacht brawls, and Jesse rocking the “Bond-meets-Bourne” vibe make it a must-watch. 🥃💥

What I love most? It's tight: just six episodes, no fluff, all punch. If Prime Video keeps delivering like this, my subscription's safe.

🍿 Nuremberg: Rami Malek Faces the Most Dangerous Mind of Nazism

📆 Release: November 7, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Historical · #Drama · #Thriller
✈️ Follow movie

James Vanderbilt, screenwriter of Zodiac and also responsible for disasters like Independence Day: Resurgence, takes the director’s chair with this intense drama about the trials that changed history. Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody, Mr. Robot) plays psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, obsessed with deciphering the mind of Hermann Göring, portrayed by Russell Crowe, whose German in the trailer has already sparked controversy 😬.

What we get is a psychological duel closer to a thriller than an academic biopic, with Michael Shannon as the relentless prosecutor Robert H. Jackson. The real question is whether the film will capture the solemn tone the subject demands or slip into “faux prestige” with a dressed-up blockbuster feel.

Personally, I’m intrigued by Malek’s ambition to portray a man consumed by his attempt to understand evil in its purest form, though I fear Crowe’s accent and a somewhat artificial aesthetic might break the immersion. Still, the premise that evil is the absence of empathy feels chillingly relevant today. 🕰⚖️

🍿 ‘28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ is shaping up to be the wild and dangerous cousin of the saga

📆 Release: January 16, 2026
🎭 Genre: #Horror · #SciFi · #Thriller
✈️ Follow movie

This direct sequel to 28 Years Later hits the gas from the first minute and never looks back. With Nia DaCosta (Candyman) in the director’s chair and Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation) on the script, the movie breaks away from the previous film’s emotional tone and dives headfirst into a savage, absurd, and fascinating dystopia.

Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, The Grand Budapest Hotel) returns as the enigmatic Dr. Kelson, who develops a disturbing relationship with the brutal Samson — the Alpha infected. Meanwhile, Spike (Alfie Williams) is caught between two worlds: the doctor’s, and that of sadistic cult leader Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), flanked by his gang of platinum-blonde tracksuit-wearing “Jimmies” with a chilling Jimmy Savile inspired look… 🧥🩵

I like how it redefines the enemy: here, the humans are scarier than the infected. Visually, it seems less striking than 28 Years Later.
