I've had enough time in the industry now, on my own, to understand who I want to be, what I want to do, and what songs I want to write. And I feel like How Did I Get Here? as a whole is a really good advert for how I'm feeling individually, professionally, personally, everything.
I think I had to earn that confidence to be able to lean back into some of the pop sensibility that I might've leaned away from on the previous two records, Walls and Faith in the Future. Because for a long time it was more about me proving a point and showing who I was as an artist, which I'd like to think I've done.
This record is definitely the longest I've ever worked on. It's a really funny feeling, it's really nice to have songs that are just yours, before you give them out to the world. It's a really, really nice feeling. But then that gets to a level, and then you're just so excited for these songs to see the light of day now. In the music industry, and certainly in pop, two years is a huge amount of time.
Now, I just feel comfortable enough to make the right choices for myself. Confident in who I am, and proud of what this record represents.

Lost in the prettiest corners of Japan โ pink hues, soft lights, and a little main character moment.
Every corner was filled with new colors, sounds, and flavors that made me fall in love all over again. I spent my days wandering through my favorite spots, from quiet temples to buzzing city streets with my camera, an matcha latte, and my pink, girly outfit that somehow matched the summer vibe perfectly. There was something magical about getting lost in little streets, finding cute cafรฉs, and watching the sunset melt into the skyline. I laughed a lot, took way too many pictures, and promised myself Iโd come back one day. It wasnโt just a trip, it felt like a soft chapter of my own story.

๐ต . It was a tough but rewarding race here in Mexico City. Starting from the second row, I knew the launch off the line would be crucial, and I actually got away quite well. But heading into Turn 1, things got tight and I had to take avoiding action across the grass, which cost a bit of time and rhythm. The track conditions made it tricky to find grip early on, especially on the medium tyres while others around me were running the softs. That meant the first stint was more about staying calm and preserving the tyres rather than going on the attack. Once we switched to the softs later on, the car came alive, and I was able to push harder and start closing in again.
The balance improved as the race went on, and our strategy was strong overall. Even with the Virtual Safety Car near the end limiting our chances to challenge further, Iโm pleased we made the most of what we had and brought the car home in P3. It wasnโt an easy race with the altitude, tyre management, and long stints making it physically demanding, but I enjoyed the fight. Congratulations to the team for their hard work all weekend and to the fans here in Mexico for creating such an incredible atmosphere. Iโll take the positives from this one and keep pushing for more in the upcoming rounds.
