🔵. I took pole position today in Baku after what was one of the most chaotic qualifying sessions I’ve ever been part of. With multiple red flags and even some rain in Q3, it was hard to piece a clean lap together. I wasn’t even on the best tyres at the end, but I gave everything on my final attempt and it paid off with my very first pole here in Azerbaijan.

The balance wasn’t always perfect and with so many interruptions it was tough to stay in rhythm, but we kept improving step by step throughout the session. Since Monza we’ve made good progress, and I’m really happy we could show that when it counted most. Tomorrow will be a long and challenging race, so the priority is to get a clean start, run our own strategy, and manage the tyres well.

I also want to congratulate Carlos on an incredible P2, his first front row with Williams, and Liam for an impressive P3 result. Credit as well to Yuki and Isack for making it through to Q3. It was a tough session for everyone, so seeing those performances makes it even more exciting as we head into race day.

🔵. What an incredible weekend in Baku. From lights out to the checkered flag, I was able to lead every lap and take the win with a strong 14-second gap. It also marked my 67th career victory and a very special Grand Slam, which means taking pole position, setting the fastest lap, leading every lap, and winning the race. The car felt fantastic on both the medium and hard tyres, and having clean air most of the time allowed me to manage the tyres well and keep pushing. The strong winds made the car move around quite a bit, but overall the performance was exactly what we needed.

Qualifying was one of the most chaotic sessions I have ever been part of, with constant interruptions and red flags, but the race itself felt much more under control. The strategy worked perfectly, the tyres held up really well, and even with a safety car period everything came together the way we had planned. It was the kind of race where focus and consistency mattered most, and I am proud of how we executed it.

At the same time, I want to congratulate Carlos for finishing third and taking his very first podium with Williams, which is a fantastic achievement. Credit also goes to Yuki for bringing home a strong sixth place, showing real pace and consistency throughout the race. The last few weekends have been amazing for us, but every track brings its own challenges. Now the focus shifts to Singapore, and I am excited to see what we can achieve there. 🔥💪💪
