Global market update – European market open on a soft note …US Future gains
· Europe's stock markets declined at the open on Monday after a broadly downbeat session in Asia as investors dwelled on sharp pre-weekend Wall Street losses and poor US tech results. UK, Germany and France Index declined 1% each.
· Most markets sank in Asian trade Monday following another painful sell-off on Wall Street, with investors' focus on the Federal Reserve's next policy meeting this week, where officials are expected to unveil their plans to battle soaring inflation. South Korea Index slipped 1.5% while Nikkei and Taiwan Index bounced back into positive territory.
· Brent Crude pushed higher at above $88/bbl as investors weighed prospects for rising demand as the omicron virus wave fades in key economies.
· US Dow Future gained nearly 100 points or 0.3% and Nasdaq Future gained 0.5%
