Brokers stopped stock option buying 2-3 days ahead of expiry to avoid catastrophic losses. They ask clients to square off existing position too 2-3 days ahead.

Now with ‘do not exercise’ options, traders will now be able to give explicit instruction to brokers to not exercise the option and automatically square off their out-of-money

Over 82% of Indian equity large-cap funds underperformed the S&P BSE 100 index: S&P report

According to the report, 50% of Indian equity large-cap funds underperformed the S&P BSE 100 in the one-year period ending December 2021.

Meanwhile, active funds in the ELSS and Mid-/Small-Cap categories fared better in terms of returns vis-à-vis their benchmarks.

The report notes that around 39% of active ELSS and 37% of the active Mid-/Small-Cap funds underperformed their respective benchmark, in the six months ending December 2021.

Over the one-year period ending in December 2021, the S&P BSE India Government Bond Index and the S&P BSE India Bond Index gained 3% and 4%, respectively.
