History : it's an Artificial lake located in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. It was built in the 12th century by Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of the famous Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan. He constructed the lake by building a dam across the Luni River between 1135 and 1150 AD to provide water for the local people.

Over the years, the Mughal rulers also added to its beauty. Emperor Jahangir built beautiful gardens called "Daulat Bagh" near the lake, and later, Emperor Shah Jahan added marble pavilions called "Baradaris."
