ayah was lying in the living room surrounded by kiddos who kept asking him to play. some climbed onto his back some laughed and teased him and some stayed close while telling their little stories. their voices blended together and filled the room with a kind of warmth that didn’t need a reason. sometimes he pretended to lose just to hear them cheer sometimes he played along like he wasn’t tired at all and in those moments everything felt light and easy.
