that afternoon felt light. i, sörguine’s carmen went on a picnic with stahlbaum’s yushi, just the two of us. honestly, this wasn’t something we planned from the start, everything happened so suddenly. you could even tell from the way he dressed, simple and effortless, but somehow it didn’t take anything away from him at all…? :o

we sat on the grass, laughing over the smallest things, taking random photos—most of them blurry, because we laughed more than we actually posed. psst, we’re only sharing the good ones, okay.

we walked around slowly, looking at everything around us, when suddenly something made a small hop near our feet. a rabbit. light brown, its fur looked so soft, with round eyes that felt so innocent. i crouched down without thinking, and he did exactly what i did.

we played with the little rabbit, gently touching it, laughing every time it did something silly. it felt like the world stopped for a moment, no thinking about anything else. just that moment. like the world belonged to the two of us.

the rabbit eventually hopped away, and without realizing it, the sky had already turned dark, leaving only a thin shade of orange at its edge. he leaned slightly on my shoulder, and i felt that kind of nice tiredness, the kind you feel after a day full of laughter with him. and i thought, even then, that this was a day i’d never forget, not ever.
