Rei paused near a stand, eyeing a game with interest. “Think you can win something?” she asked, half-teasing. Riki glanced at her, then at the prizes. “For you? Probably.” She smiled faintly. “That sounds overconfident.” He just smirked. “Watch me.”

A little later, they found themselves by the water, the lights reflecting in soft ripples. Rei leaned slightly against the railing, her gaze drifting. “It’s calmer here,” she said. Riki stood next to her, close enough to feel familiar. “You like calm?” he asked.
