有消息表明 Telegram Android beta 所用的 API 接口套用的是 Google 翻译 app 所使用的接口，而没有从正规渠道购买 Google Cloud 翻译 API 的授权。
从反编译获得的 Telegram Android beta 源代码显示其试图将 API 网址拆分成多段以规避检索。
目前尚不明确这是否是最终的版本，以及 Google 将如何做出回应。

Telegram Android 8.4.0 (2517) beta 也新增了消息翻译功能。
· 能自动识别消息使用的语言（目测是本地识别）
· 可以为指定语言隐藏翻译按钮
· 只能翻译消息到 UI 语言（能从自带语言、官方语言包和部分三方语言包识别 UI 语言）
· 消息翻译使用联网的 Google 翻译 API
