I guess that night with Sjarn’s Anton was never meant to be anything more than a quiet blur—me with something sweet melting too fast under city lights, him half-shadow in a green hoodie, carrying plastic bags like they held pieces of a life we borrowed for a few hours; we drifted through empty streets and bright aisles, filling a cart with random sweets, all over the place, not quite buying anything real, just blue Gatorade that looked like sapphires and a carton of eggs we’ll probably never cook. We were doubling over the small comforts, laughing in between too softly or even too hard it caught in the ceiling tiles like we didn’t want the moment to break. I didn’t even remember what was that funny! Maybe just the way the ‘Reduced for Quick Sale’ stickers was getting into us. Somehow, it felt like happiness—cheap, fleeting, the kind you don’t try to hold onto.. you just let it stay exactly where it happened. I felt so light I might actually float over the post office. It wasn’t a big deal, it was just a Tuesday, but God, I was happy. I was so happy I could scream and it would just turn into more stars. For a couple of hours ahead, we were just about to sit on the curb until my hands weren’t sticky anymore and the world made sense again.
