🚨🇮🇷 Mojtaba Khamenei is placing one of the IRGC’s oldest power brokers directly inside Iran’s top security body.

In today’s decree, he appointed Mohsen Rezaei as his representative to the Supreme National Security Council, praising his role in the Iran-Iraq War and thanking outgoing official Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr.

A separate government announcement says President Pezeshkian also appointed Rezaei as council secretary following Zolghadr’s resignation.

Rezaei commanded the IRGC from 1981 to 1997 and has taken a hard line on Hormuz, negotiations and military retaliation. This looks less like an ordinary reshuffle and more like further concentration of security policy in veteran IRGC hands.

After 7 months have passed since the Dey massacre, unfortunately the dimensions of this crime have still not been clearly reflected.

The nationwide internet shutdown at that time was the main obstacle to disseminating what the people of Iran experienced firsthand in Dey. Ultimately, international public opinion, focusing on war news and then the World Cup, forgot the greatest crime in contemporary history committed against the Iranian people.

Unpublished or rarely seen images of this horrific crime, perpetrated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and other security institutions of the Islamic Republic against unarmed people, will be published in a few minutes in a series of tweets in English from my Twitter account, in order to be recorded in history and to remind the world of this crime.
