What to Read for UPSC Prelims 2025?
A) People Read Random books, pdfs, notes, and other resources without actually knowing what is asked in question paper.
So even after reading so many resources they still score very low.
Let me Simplify Prelims.
1) FIRST READ NCERTS - for basic of Knowledge of History, Geography, Economy, Art and Culture, General science.
For example if you Donβt know the chronology of rulers or dynasties then there is no point of reading the rest of History. This basics are covered from Ncerts.
2) BUY PYQ BOOK AND PAPERS- After Reading NCERTs immediately take last 5-7 years of Previous years questions and note down the topics from where questions are asked.
3) TOPICS OR THEMES LIST Once you have the Topics list then use any single Standard book for reading only those topics which were asked in Previous years.
For example for Environment u can use Shankar Ias or Pmf ias book.
4) REVISION - Revise those same themes of topics again and again and donβt read unnecessary stuff from here and then.
5) MOCK TESTS Solutions - Give Two sectional Tests for each Subject and 4-5 full lengths and Read those mock Tests Solutions 3-4 times.
6) Current Affairs - Take Vision or Vajiram or any other institute and read according to PYQs. without knowing pyqs u donβt touch current affairs.
7) CSAT- First Do Basics Maths from any quant Book like Arihant or RS Agarwal. Then just take 5 years PYQs and Answer keys from UPSC site and practice them again and again for 3-4 months. You can watch PYQ quant solved videos on YouTube.
Read the above suggestions two three times and then start implementing it.
