Stay in reality.
You can’t predict when you will clear UPSC. Some of my friends cracked it in their first attempt, some others in 2–3 attempts. I cleared it in my 6th attempt. There are also many who reach Mains or even the interview but don’t make it.
So, if you want to prepare for UPSC, don’t follow anyone blindly. Keep your own timeline. Decide how many attempts you want to give and how many years you are willing to dedicate.
That decision should be yours.
However, as a ranker and mentor, I suggest you spend at least 2–3 years in preparation and give at least 2–3 serious attempts.

Things you should understand about UPSC
When some of my friends were appearing for interviews, I was still struggling to clear Prelims. Yet, I went on to secure AIR 587 in CSE 2023 before many of them could clear the exam.
At the same time, several candidates who couldn’t clear Prelims in 2023 later became Top 10 rankers in 2024 and 2025.
This shows how unpredictable this exam is.
So, have patience and focus on your preparation sincerely, without expecting immediate results.
Change is the Only Constant.

Don’t panic.
Be cautious about what you see on social media and mainstream media regarding war, gas shortages, lockdowns, and similar issues. Many people exploit such situations by creating sensational news and reels just to attract viewers.
Yes, difficulties are there, but if we stay strong and calm, we can overcome them together.

Women's Quota & LS Expansion — Key Points
1) Govt plans 543 → 816 LS seats; 273 reserved for women post-delimitation
2) Based on 2011 Census — triggers constitutional issues
3) Articles 81 & 82 — "one person, one vote, one value" principle may be violated
4) Delimitation frozen till first census after 2026; needs fresh Delimitation Act
5) Article 14 (equality) challenge likely
6) Southern states disadvantaged — Article 81(1)(a) limits LS to 550; needs amendment first
7) Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023 linked to this proposal

Hello everyone,
My name is Jaswanth Jeenu. I am from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
I did my graduation from IIT Kanpur in Computer Science. After that, I worked at Samsung R&D, Bengaluru, where I got a job offer but always had my heart set on Civil Services.
My UPSC Journey has been a long and persistent one:
• 2021 – Indian Postal Service (IPoS)
• 2022 – IRMS & IFoS
• 2023 – IPS
• 2024 – Rank secured (Service not upgraded)
• 2025 – IAS, AIR 23
I took Chemistry Optional, and scored 308 Marks in this attempt.
I am now proud to be a part of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Every attempt taught me something new, and I’m glad that perseverance paid off.
I’ll be happy to come on a Live Session with my dear friend Rajinikanth and interact with you all. Looking forward to it!

Some top movie heroes are actually society’s villains.
They are increasing their remuneration to crores and asking the government to increase ticket prices. They earn hundreds of crores and live a luxurious life, but still want youth to fight for their movie tickets and do all kinds of nonsense in theatres.
I request the youth, please focus on your careers and consider these heroes as entertainers, nothing more.

Those who are failing in Mains please note
One of the Major Reasons for Scoring low marks in GS papers is lack of Examples or substantiation for the Points they write.
You can write these kinds of real life examples in your Answers.
Don't just depend on books to write Examples.
Observe multiple sources especially government sources including Social media to get such examples

IPL Season has begun
Try to stay away from any kind of Betting.
I have seen my own family members destroying their lives because of IPL betting.
It always starts with a small amount but ends with the amount you will never ever imagine.
