I know many students are going through a lot of stress after seeing their marksheets. It is painful, and I completely understand that. Just give yourself some time.

The majority of rankers you see every year have failed multiple times and scored very poorly in their initial attempts. Let me give my own example. I scored 598 marks in my first Mains, and I was completely devastated. In my second Mains, I scored 711, but missed the interview call by a few marks. Again, it was very painful. It was already my 5th attempt, and I had faced many problems.

But I felt that I was close. I worked really hard and finally scored 776 in Mains, which was around the average score of the top 200 rankers. So sometimes it is simply a matter of time.

The same was the case with my Prelims. In my first serious attempt, I scored 78 in GS. In the next attempt, I scored 98 in GS. So just focus on your weak areas and try to understand the exam better.

Have patience and continue to work without expecting results.

Good night!!

Foreign Banks in India

Foreign banks operate in India as branches of their parent banks incorporated abroad, regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Key Facts
1) Around 45–50 foreign banks operate in India, though their collective share of total banking assets is relatively small (around 6–7%).
2) They primarily serve corporate clients, MNCs, trade finance, and high-net-worth individuals.
3) Major players include HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Deutsche Bank, DBS Bank, and Barclays.

Regulatory Framework
1) Governed by the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and RBI guidelines.
Restricted priority sector lending obligations (40% of ANBC, same as domestic banks, but with some relaxations).
2) Must maintain a minimum capital of ₹500 crore for new branch licenses.
3) RBI's 2013 policy allows foreign banks to operate either as branches or set up a Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) — WOS route gives more operational freedom but requires more capital.

Please note :
There is no syllabus mentioned for Prelims.
So it is the previous year's questions which are like the syllabus for Prelims exam.
So first read Ncerts ( selective) and last 6-7 years Pyqs themes content.
Don't read random topics..I have said this again and again.

Very Honestly speaking, previously also, I had conveyed that this channel has given me decent income through the various initiatives I have taken. I am always happy to spend some of that money on creating good content and conducting sessions for the benefit of the followers of this channel.

Every good initiative I undertake here helps me in one way or another.
So, even those who are unable to join my mentorship courses will still benefit from my content and guidance through this channel.

No student on this channel should have to read unnecessary content or study without proper guidance.

Just follow the updates regularly and try to implement them.

Small suggestion.

Instagram reels and YouTube shorts have become a part and parcel of young people’s lives now. Many IAS coaching institutions are well aware that students and people in general are attracted to controversial news and sensational information. So they keep making reels on such topics mainly to gain views and attention.

Unfortunately, this often misguides serious aspirants. Therefore, it is better to stay away from such reels.

Our best guides for UPSC preparation are:
• Previous Years’ Questions for Prelims
• Mains Syllabus and Previous Years’ Questions
• Toppers’ Answer Copies
Even whatever I guide on this channel and in my Mentorship Program is based on these aspects only.

I will try to speak both English and Telugu to reach out to all the members of the channel.

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) are foreign individuals or institutions that invest in a country’s financial markets (such as shares and bonds) without controlling the company.

Investments are usually short-term and easily withdrawable.

In India, FPIs are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
They commonly invest in stock markets like the National Stock Exchange of India and Bombay Stock Exchange.

When you study the topic along with newspaper or current issues your concepts will be more clear and you will remember them for a long time.

Always take a day off and give some time to yourself.
Most of the time, we are lost in the influence of the world around us.
Often, we end up living not the life we truly want, but the life society expects from us.
Take some time to pause, reflect, and question your decisions.

National Security Act, 1980 (NSA) is a preventive detention law that empowers the Central and State Governments to detain a person without formal charges or trial if the person is considered a threat to national security, public order, or maintenance of essential supplies and services.

Under the Act, a person can be detained for up to 12 months. The order can be issued by the District Magistrate or Police Commissioner, and the case must be reviewed by an Advisory Board.

The legal basis for such preventive detention comes from Article 22 of the Constitution of India. However, the Act is often criticized for possible misuse and concerns over civil liberties.
