Q. With reference to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in India, consider the following statements: 1. SEZs in India are eligible to claim direct tax benefits only if they commenced operations before April 2020. 2. The WTO dispute settlement body ruled against…
Only Three are correct
Explanation :
Statement 1 — Correct
The sunset clause under Section 10AA ended in April 2020. Only SEZ units operational before that retain direct tax benefits.
Statement 2 — Correct
WTO ruled against India’s SEZ-linked export subsidies (including SEZs, MEIS).
They were treated as WTO-prohibited subsidies.
Statement 3 — Correct (DESH Bill)
The draft DESH Bill proposes allowing states to play a greater role, including setting up zones without central approval.
Statement 4 — Incorrect
SEZs contribute around 30% of total exports, but not more than one-third.
However, services SEZs (IT/ITES) dominate export share — this part is true but the threshold is wrong.

However, my guidance through the channel will continue without any interruptions, so that even those who couldn’t join the mentorship sessions can still move in the right direction. I am doing my best to explain what kind of topics are asked in the exam, how to read newspapers, how to write answers, and many other important aspects through my channel.
For the best results, try to implement whatever I am sharing on the channel especially writing answers to the questions I post and then reading the model answers afterward.
Very soon, I will be conducting another live session with a friend of mine who has cleared the UPSC exam twice and is currently serving in the IPS. Through such sessions, I will continue to provide the right guidance to all our channel members.

Just wanted to talk about Something which is viral these days in Telugu states.
The arrest of founder of Ibomma a website which hosts pirated movies.
It is illegal and wrong to pirate movies. We should not encourage.
However it is also wrong when film stars and producers earning hundreds of crores requesting governments for subsidies on land, production, and, hike of movie tickets, etc. They are also wrong sponsoring influencers to give fake reviews, Spending money on fake ratings.
That’s why I advise people don’t be addicted to films or film stars. Always treat them as one part of entertainment and avoid unnecessary fandom.
Focus on building your career and look after your family and friends. It is always suggested to do some kind of social service and serve the nation in any capacity. Indian society is still emerging and facing many issues and as a responsible citizens we can do some contribution to make our Nation stand ahead of other nations.
