I have said it very often that those who are preparing for Civil services must focus on Newspaper everyday. Most of the Questions in Mains and Interview revolves around current affairs and It also gives very good understanding of Social issues, static knowledge, data , facts, value addition etc

100 years of UPSC

As UPSC completes 100 years of service for the nation I want to give my highest regards and gratitude for it. It has provided a great and equal platform for students like me who were in born in villages to Daily wage labour family. It has given me and family Respect, Dignity, and opportunities to grow better.

My service allocation is stuck because of my own mistakes but even after that I received lot of love and affection from student community and My batchmates recognising my background, hard work and commitment towards public service. That is the reason I continue to mentor students in the UPSC field to make students from normal backgrounds to stand in the final list.

I am always grateful to UPSC for giving me and family this identify and respect and I will strive to do best in my work which will create a large impact in the society.

Avoid reading too much content, books or information for UPSC civil services. Many telegram channels keep sharing too many articles, content, pdfs etc. This way they are doing more harm than good.
Always limited knowledge based on Syllabus and Pyqs should be given priority.

Revision, Notes making and writing Answers are more important than reading too much content everyday.

It will take me hardly few minutes to share hundreds of pdfs or articles everyday but my intention is always to make aspirants study right content and write more answers.

Always remember Writing answers to directives is must and any deviations from it will make you score less marks.

You are the District Collector of Parasia, a semi-urban area in Madhya Pradesh. In early September, your district witnesses a disturbing pattern — several children under five die within days after developing similar symptoms such as vomiting, breathlessness, and convulsions.

Initial investigations by the district health department point toward contaminated water or vector-borne diseases, but all laboratory tests return negative. Within a week, evidence starts emerging that all deceased children had consumed a particular brand of cough syrup sold by local pharmacies.

You immediately order a suspension of the sale of that syrup and send samples to the State Drug Testing Laboratory. Meanwhile, the media begins intense coverage, and grieving families demand justice.

A few days later, you learn through informal channels that the pharmaceutical company manufacturing the syrup belongs to a businessman closely associated with influential politicians. You start receiving indirect pressure from some political representatives and senior bureaucrats to “handle the issue quietly” and “avoid damaging reputations” until the lab report arrives.

At the same time, the public is angry, opposition parties are protesting, and your moral conscience tells you that inaction could allow more children to die if contaminated products are still in circulation.

Questions:
1. What are the ethical principles and values at stake in this situation?
2. As the District Collector, what immediate and long-term steps would you take to handle the crisis ethically and effectively?
3. How would you deal with political and bureaucratic pressure without compromising public interest?
4. Suggest measures to strengthen accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.

Common problem with majority of students

I will study 5-7 chapters from Economy this week
I will study these many chapters from History or Geography next week or
I will finish Monthly Magazine in these many days

Without knowing whether those chapters have come in Pyqs or not. How much weightage they have in prelims or mains. Whether those chapters are useful or not they continue to read and read for months and months.

The day you stop this random reading and start focusing on themes or chapters which are part of PYQS and Syllabus , write regularly and make crispy notes then only you will be overcoming your failures.
