The Broken Pot – Story of Upavali

Upavali had faced failure and unhappiness throughout her life. Hoping for a new beginning, she joined the Buddhist monastic order. But even after years of practice, she could not calm her mind and often felt discouraged.

One day, while fetching water, she accidentally dropped her clay pot. It broke into pieces, and the water quickly disappeared into the ground.

As she watched, she realized

"Just like this pot and water, my sufferings and failures will not last forever."

That simple realization brought her great peace and changed her life.
