Forwarded from Pocket of Diary: The Delaire
It was a slow afternoon when Wendissle’s Kya decided—on impulse—to walk over to Delaire’s Leeseo house. She didn’t tell her family, didn’t even mention it to her older brother. She just… went.
Leeseo opened the door with a surprised face, but smiled anyway. “Kya? What are you doing here?”
“Bosen di rumah. Can I hang out for a bit?”
They spent the next couple of hours playing cards in the living room, making dumb bets over who had to do silly dares if they lost. Then they switched to watching a movie—some random rom-com they barely paid attention to because they kept pausing it to comment on every scene.
Then, out of nowhere, Kya’s phone buzzed.
Incoming call: Kakak.
She stared at the screen. Her heart dropped.
“Oh no…”
Leeseo looked over. “Who is it?”
“My brother.” Kya’s voice was tense now. “I think I’m screwed.”
She answered the call, walked a few steps away. There was a short exchange—quiet, but urgent.
“I gotta go. Like, right now.”
“What? Why?”
“I wasn’t supposed to leave home today. My brother’s furious. Kalau yang lain tau, habis aku.”
Before Leeseo could say much else, Kya was already at the door—shoes setengah dipakai and face full of panic.
Kya just nodded and disappeared out the gate and a little silence that filled the space where laughter used to be.
