Karen stood in the chocolate aisle, staring at two boxes in her cart. She picked up the familiar one, and then hesitated adding the other boxes she wasn’t sure she should buy. She placed both carefully in her basket and moved on without a word.

Nearby, Daniel was pushing a cart far too big for just two people. Sam leaned over the handle, tossing in snacks he insisted were “important,” while Daniel smiled and let him. Bread, milk, cereal, none of it planned but all of it are necessary.

Different people, different cart. Each filled with choices, routine, impulsiveness, and the feeling of something nostalgic.
