Govt notifies Semicon 2.0 scheme with β‚Ή1.27 lakh crore outlay

The government has notified the Semicon 2.0 scheme with an outlay of β‚Ή1.27 lakh crore to boost the domestic chip ecosystem. Approved on July 15, the initiative provides 40% fiscal support for silicon fabs and 35% for other fabs, including compound, display and specialised fabs. It also offers grants, equity co-investment and royalty financing to eligible startups and companies.

Mumbai Ganpati mandals are allowed to use loudspeakers from 6 am till 12 am on the four visarjan days during Ganeshotsav, Mumbai Suburban Collector said. Loudspeakers and amplifiers can be used on September 15, 18, 19 and 25, if they follow the noise limit under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules. Ganeshotsav 2026 will begin on September 14.

24 injured, 15 feared trapped in blast at firecracker factory in UP's Kaushambi

A massive explosion at a firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district on Monday left around two dozen people injured, while nearly 15 others were feared trapped inside, officials said.
