NPS subscribers will be subject to a one-time onboarding charge of β‚Ή200 per PRAN. UP girl climbs 100-ft tank after scolding over boyfriend, rescued

A 15-year-old girl in UP's Gorakhpur climbed a 100-foot water tank after her mother scolded her for talking to her boyfriend, reports stated. She remained atop the tank for three hours before female officer Jagriti Kharwar climbed up and grabbed her. The girl jumped, but Kharwar held her arm in the air until officers pulled her to safety, reports added.

Scientists reveal what caused deadly flash floods in Nepal

A preliminary report by Nepalese scientists found that last week's flash floods were caused by an ice-rock avalanche from Langtang–Lirung peak, not a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF). Satellite images showed no evidence of a GLOF. The mass began falling around 8:37am on August 26 from 5,200 metres, reaching Lhende River before surging downstream through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.

A 24-year-old drunk pilot allegedly stole a small aircraft in Hungary and flew it into a no-fly zone that was too close to the country's only nuclear power plant. 24 injured, 15 feared trapped in blast at firecracker factory in UP's Kaushambi

A massive explosion at a firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district on Monday left around two dozen people injured, while nearly 15 others were feared trapped inside, officials said. Sensex ends 307 points lower, Nifty at 24,080

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended lower on Monday, dragged by losses in metal and IT stocks.
