India's ESDS earned most from Russia's sanctioned lender Gazprombank, has now launched ₹720-cr IPO

Gazprombank, one of Russia's largest lenders which has been sanctioned for years, was the largest revenue generator for Indian cloud service provider ESDS, Moneycontrol reported. As of FY25, Gazprombank accounts for 20.15% of ESDS' revenues, which suddenly fell to just 2.8% in FY26, as sanctions took hold. ESDS has, on Friday, launched a ₹720-crore IPO that closes on September 1.

Jio Platforms gets SEBI nod for what may become India's largest-ever IPO

SEBI has approved the IPO of Reliance-owned Jio Platforms, paving the way for what could become India's largest-ever public issue. As per Jio's IPO prospectus, filed on June 19, the company will issue up to 27 crore new shares. Notably, Meta and Google hold a 17.71% and 33.57% stake in Jio, and the IPO may reportedly raise around ₹37,700 crore.

Trump announces 'biggest oil deal in world history' with Venezuela

US President Donald Trump said the US has secured majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuela's proven oil reserves under an agreement, calling it the "biggest oil deal in world history". Trump said the deal would more than double US oil reserves and lower gas prices. Venezuela said 17 oil fields would be developed under the agreement.

US judge rules 9/11 mastermind’s confession unusable, says it was coerced by CIA

A US military judge ruled that the confession made by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11 terrorist attacks, cannot be used against him at trial, citing “psychological conditioning and severe coercion” by CIA.
