China-linked hackers used autonomous AI to attack Taiwan: Report

Open-source AI agents like OpenClaw were reportedly used by hackers to launch a "near-autonomous" attack on Taiwanese government agencies. The AI agents mapped 21 government systems, cracked 85 government user accounts and extracted around 2,500 personnel records over four days in July, Israeli AI firm Dream reported. China-linked hackers are suspected of being behind the attack.
