Tata Group stocks lost around ₹46,000 crore in market value on Wednesday after N Chandrasekaran said he would not seek reappointment as Tata Sons chairman. TCS fell 4.12%, while Tata Motors and Tejas Networks dropped 2.47% and 2.34%, respectively. Tata Consumer Products, Tata Communications, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata Elxsi, Indian Hotels, Voltas and Trent also declined during the session.

Trainee IPS officer Rahul Bansal accused in ₹1 cr bribery scandal in his 1st field posting

A 2022-batch Chhattisgarh cadre trainee IPS officer, Rahul Bansal, was named in an alleged ₹1 crore bribery scandal. During his first field posting in Chhattisgarh's Surguja district, he, along with two other police personnel, allegedly accepted a ₹1 crore bribe to cover up a cyber fraud case. SAT questions SEBI on Zee's 2-month ban, reserves relief plea order

Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) questioned SEBI's two-month securities market ban on Zee Entertainment, which may block its planned ₹3,143 crore fundraise through a share issue. China's answer to Boeing & Airbus makes first international flight, gets 'water salute'

China's homegrown C919 passenger aircraft, developed by state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), departed on its first commercial international flight to Mongolia on Wednesday. India's retail inflation jumped to 4.45% in July. The top five key items with high inflation were silver jewellery (109.84%), ginger (83.62%), garlic (35.36%), gold/diamond/platinum jewellery (32.98%) and onion (22.54%).
