Indian chess Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa has defeated World Championship challenger Javokhir Sindarov in the second round of the Sinquefield Cup 2026. The 21-year-old has 1.5 points from two rounds and is tied for the lead with Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Levon Aronian and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave. Earlier this month, Praggnanandhaa won his maiden Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz title.

TN passes resolution against delimitation, urges freeze on LS seats at 543

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution against the proposed delimitation exercise. The state government urged the Centre to permanently fix the strength of Lok Sabha at 543. India rolls out 19 customised passenger coaches for Bangladesh Railways

The Rail Coach Factory in Punjab's Kapurthala has rolled out 19 LHB broad gauge passenger coaches for Bangladesh Railways, comprising three AC Sleeper Cars, three AC Chair Cars and 11 Non-AC Chair Cars. The coaches feature alarm system, baby-care facilities and prayer rooms. Earlier, in 2015-16, the factory had supplied 120 similar coaches to Bangladesh Railways.
