Footballer punches referee in face after getting red card during match in Argentina, arrested

A 35-year-old Barrio Quinta footballer was arrested after allegedly punching a referee in the face during a Sanlorencina League match against Santa Catalina in Argentina. The attack came after the player was shown a red card following an argument. The referee fell to the ground, suffered an injury to his right cheekbone and was taken to hospital for medical tests.

US ICE plans gloves that can give painful electric shocks to detainees

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to spend $20 million on gloves that deliver painful electric shocks during confrontations. The devices, known as Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter (G.L.O.V.E.), are designed to function like ordinary gloves until an officer activates electrical mode. Lucknow-Kanpur E-way contractor says rains led to cracks, data shows 43% less rainfall than normal

PNC Infratech, the contractor of Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, claimed the expressway witnessed repeated road settlements, cracks and surface failures due to heavy rains. However, data for the expressway corridor showed that Lucknow received only 269 mm of rain against its normal 380 mm from June 1 to August 10, a deficit of 29%. Unnao received 43% less rainfall than normal.

The work on clearing a portion of 99-year-old landfill in Mumbai's Deonar is yet to begin, The Indian Express reported citing RTI records. The records show BMC awarded a ₹2,537-crore contract to clean up landfill to Hyderabad-based Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NECL).
