US meteorologist Ryan Maue has warned that the developing Super El Niño could be the strongest in 500 to 1,000 years. He said it could become one of humanity's most extreme climate events in centuries. Oil prices rise amid concerns over Hormuz reopening plans

Crude oil prices continued to rise on Friday amid concerns over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude futures rose 1.2% to $83.48/barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained 1.1% to $78.84/barrel. Iran, in coordination with Oman, proposed banning vessels deemed hostile from using the strait and imposing heavy fines on those violating the proposed rules.

Apollo to takeover EasyJet for $7.7 bn after Castlelake withdraws

Apollo Global on Thursday agreed to takeover UK-based budget airline EasyJet in a £5.70 billion ($7.7 billion) deal after private equity firm Castlelake withdrew its offer. The deal will entitle investors of EasyJet to £7.15 per share ($9.63), representing a 54% premium to its closing price on February 27. Apollo has previously also invested in Atlas Air and Aeromexico.

When can lenders lock your phone for missing an EMI?

RBI has issued rules on when lenders can restrict phones, tablets and laptops bought on loan. Restrictions can begin after payments remain overdue for 30 days, while a full lock is allowed after 60 days. Even then, incoming calls, SMS, emergency services and work-related features must remain available. Lenders must restore access within an hour after dues are fully cleared.

Central Bank of India has issued an attachment notice for Rajpal Yadav's ancestral properties in Shahjahanpur after he defaulted on a loan taken to finance his 2012 film 'Ata Pata Laapata'.
