3,500-km-long monsoon cloud band seen stretching from China to India

A satellite image from India's INSAT-3DS weather satellite has captured a vast cloud band stretching nearly 3,500 km from western China and the Tibetan Plateau across the Himalayas into northern and central India. The image shows a continuous ribbon of bright white clouds arching across Asia. Meteorologists said it reflected the combined upper-level outflow of active monsoon thunderstorms.

WB govt removes loudspeakers from 1,279 mosques, 199 temples

At least 1,279 mosques and 199 temples in West Bengal removed loudspeakers from their premises in the last two days after government orders, TOI reported. The police had reportedly issued a verbal order to religious institutions, which triggered objections from some mosque leaders. A study published in 'Science Advances' suggested free-living cells may have emerged independently in bacteria and archaea after they split from a common ancestor. The study, challenging single-origin theory, examined protein structures of core metabolic enzymes in genomes of bacteria and archaea. Govt cuts deadline to remove unlawful AI content from 36 hours to 3 hours
