Why is July 31 not the deadline for all taxpayers?

For most people, or those who file ITR-1 or ITR-2, the deadline is July 31. However, people who don't get their accounts audited, like freelancers, consultants, professionals and small business owners, have August 31 as their due date. These are individuals who file ITR-3 or ITR-4. Meanwhile, those whose accounts have to be audited have an October 31 deadline.

Israel strikes mosque in Gaza, claims Hamas used it for arms storage

The Israeli military said it had struck a mosque in Gaza, claiming it was being used by Hamas as a weapons storage facility. "Over the past week, IDF struck and dismantled several Hamas weapons storage facilities in central and northern Gaza Strip," it said. Railways fined for mental harassment after 2 RAC passengers made to share blanket

A Delhi consumer commission has fined Indian Railways ₹25,000 for failing to provide separate blankets to two unrelated passengers travelling on RAC tickets. One of the passengers had filed a complaint, alleging mental harassment and physical inconvenience. According to a 2009 government circular, a blanket and bedsheet may be given to RAC passengers as bedroll charges are included in fare.

Insurer not liable to pay compensation for accidents if driver's licence invalid: SC

The Supreme Court has ruled that insurance companies aren't liable to pay compensation in road accident cases if the vehicle was driven without a valid driving licence. The court said the driver, vehicle owner, or both may have to bear the compensation. E20 doesn't damage vehicle, only cuts fuel efficiency in older cars: Gadkari to Parliament

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari told the Lok Sabha that E20 fuel doesn't damage a car or affect its engine durability, startability, corrosion resistance and material compatibility under prescribed standards. "Legacy vehicles don't exhibit variation in performance or abnormal wear and tear due to E20," Gadkari said. He noted that E20 reduces old E10-compliant vehicles' mileage by 2-6%.
