8 killed, several trapped in Sikkim tunnel after landslide triggers gas leak

Eight bodies have been recovered from a tunnel construction site after landslide damaged it and led to methane gas leak in Sikkim's Namchi. "There is a possibility that around 27 workers are trapped inside the tunnel," Namchi district collector Anupa Tamling said. The officials said methane levels inside tunnel remain so high that rescuers have been unable to reach location.

US imposes new 50% tariffs on some Canadian products

The US has imposed new 50% tariffs on a wide range of Canadian products, which is set to impact nearly $20 billion of Canadian imports into the US. The new tariffs, set to take effect in 30 days, would apply to wine, cement, dairy products, swimming pools, and furniture. It would also impact fishing rods, seeds, clothing and wigs.

Ram Temple Trust forms new cash-counting team to work under SBI

The Ram Temple Trust has deployed a new team for counting donations and introduced a two-shift system under the supervision of the State Bank of India. A team of around 10 to 12 people will work in each shift, sources said. The trust also appointed Shobhnath Mishra as the new in-charge for cash counting, replacing Subhash Srivastava, who was arrested.

Delhi Police said protesters participating in the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) march to Parliament were "unruly, aggressive and violent". Police stated that protesters refused to disperse and deliberately violated the prohibitory orders in force, adding that they "attacked" police personnel with stones and other objects. More than 100 protesters injured during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest march to the Parliament were admitted to Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.
