Germany recorded 5,120 heat-related deaths in 2026, with most occurring in late June as Europe faced severe heatwave. Of the total, 4,270 deaths were among people aged 75 and older. More women than men died, mainly because they make up a larger share of the very elderly. Western Europe recorded its hottest June on record, with temperatures 3ยฐC above normal.

23 Ram Temple donation-counting staff members quit, allege salary cuts and longer shifts

As many as 23 employees responsible for counting donations at Ayodhyaโ€™s Ram Temple have resigned, alleging that their daily shifts were increased from six to nine hours while salaries and monthly leaves were reduced. The resignations come amid an SIT probe into alleged donation theft at the temple, which has led to eight arrests.

Gold & silver prices move in opposite directions, list shows changes over last 10 days

The retail prices of gold and silver saw fluctuations in the first 10 days of July.
