The CBI arrested Haryana IAS officer Pardeep Kumar on his retirement day on Tuesday in connection with the alleged ₹657-crore IDFC First Bank-AU Small Finance Bank scam. According to the CBI, ₹169 crore of Haryana State Pollution Control Board funds, meant for fixed deposits, was misappropriated during his tenure as member secretary. West Bengal has removed 77 Muslim communities from the OBC list under the two new bills, in line with a 2024 Calcutta High Court order.
