The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls began in Karnataka on Tuesday. A total of 59,050 booth level-officers (BLOs) will distribute enumeration forms to residents and undertake house-to-house visits until July 29. Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Anbukumar said revision will cover over 5.5 crore electors across the state. The final electoral rolls will be published on October 7.

India's wild tiger population doubles in over 10 years, surges past 3,600
India has achieved the St Petersburg Declaration goal of doubling its wild tiger population by 2022, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said. According to the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the tiger population rose from 1,706 in 2010 to an estimated 3,682 in 2022.
