How does TN govt's '1-gm gold ring to newborns' scheme add up in numbers?

About 4,36,800 babies are born annually in state-run facilities in Tamil Nadu and thus would be eligible for a one-gram gold ring under the state government's 'Thaimaaman' scheme, PTI reported. This translates to roughly 36,400 beneficiaries a month and 1,197 a day.
